Upgrade

Our little house is not standing yet but I already have a visual picture of it. The choleric wants high quality fixtures installed from the small things such as toggle switches to toilets and everything! But since we are getting a low-cost house (low cost that would cost us more than a million after we pay it in 25 years?), we cannot be sure that everything will be of high quality. Talk about developer getting the most profit that they could! We’re considering to buy our own or upgrade the quality of materials that the developer has allotted for the house to make sure we won’t be replacing them should they break immediately. Well, I am just thinking of doing things right the first time. Such a choleric!

Mt. Apo

Mount Apo is a large solfataric potentially active stratovolcano on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It is the highest mountain in the country and overlooks Davao City-40km northeast, Digos City-25km southeast, and Kidapawan City-20km west. Its name means “master” or “grandfather”. Apo is flat topped, with three peaks, and is capped by a 500 m wide volcanic crater containing a small crater lake. It is a source of geothermal energy, but the date of its most recent eruption is unknown, and none are verified in historical times.

At 2954 meters, Mount Apo is the highest mountain in the Philippines. This majestic peak is one of the country’s most popular climbing destinations.

I am always amazed at the beauty of Mt. Apo. I’ve been seeing this volcano every single day in my hometown because our old house it facing this mountain and this is the view that greets us every morning. It’s where the sun peeks to say good morning to everyone! Now that we’re living here in Davao. Mt. Apo is located in our west (back of the apartment) so I seldom see it now.*sigh*. Anyway, hubby captured this with our crappy Sigma lens on New Year’s day.

Mini store

There’s another project that I wanted to push through sooner or later (but I want it sooner!LOL). It’s a plan that was conceptualized months ago but never had a chance to make it happen, or should I say never worked for it to happen. The past few days I’ve been talking about it with a blogger friend and she’ll be helping me to make this plan happen. Wanna know what’s on my mind? The entrepreneur in me is bugging me to sell items from the US. Yes, I will be selling in due time but I won’t be doing a sales job search for I won’t be employed to sell, I’ll run my own mini-selling business. This must be a good venture and means for additional income.

Yes, I’m into selling even when I was in Elementary. Got that from Mamang in her quest for additional income to augment our daily expenses that the meager salary of a public school teacher cannot cover. It was really hard to make ends meet then. Selling candies, or other goodies then are just for fun. I like the feeling of making a profit, counting the money at the end of the day. Though I am making just a few pesos, it doesn’t matter. As long as my goods are all sold! And my earnings are mine. I don’t give it to Mamang and she never asked for it. Maybe she just wanted me to learn, enjoy and earn.

What I need now is the money to start with that business in mind. I really hope I could find the means to provide for it soon. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Skincare guide

I’ve been finding literature for eczema treatment in my fave online magazine when I ended up going over the skin care tips that are really helpful. That reminds me to pay attention to my skin now even if I am staying at home most of the time. I am so vain before when I was working, and even spends a few bucks for skincare products. Then when I stayed at home, everything has changed…even the brand of beauty bar and the facial cleansers that I am using. I totally forgot about my beauty regimen – the homemade body scrub, and the natural facial wash. It isn’t too late yet so I’d better go back in taking extra care of my skin. After all, I will definitely benefit from it and won’t regret it later.

Anyhow, here are some skincare guide that I find helpful:

Normal Skin: Your skin is neither too oily nor too dry, and you rarely break out or experience redness. Your pores are small (practically invisible), and though an occasional blemish may surface, it’s usually tied to your period.

  • Cleanse and moisturize daily with gentle, basic products. Look for those with antioxidants, which fight free-radical damage and stave off the signs of aging.
  • You might also consider adding retinoids or vitamin C to your routine several times a week to boost collagen production
  • Finally, don’t forget moisturizer?one with sunscreen for the day and one without SPF at night. Read more… »
