Oh no. I am internet-less again. My smartbro adapter was broken last weekend. It was actually acting up since last month. Once it will be turned off, it takes hours to turn it on again. Since then, we decided not to turn it off. I don’t know what came to mind that I turned it off last Saturday night. I was thinking that the adapter should also take a rest that’s why I turned it off hoping that it will still turn on when I plug it again. Then my worst nightmare happened. The adapter is dead! It won’t turn on after numerous tries. I even plugged it to other power supply but to no avail. So I have no choice but to use the prepaid plug-it so I can work. It is really expensive but that’s the price I have to pay for being stubborn. Now we are waiting for the smartbro technicians to replace the adapter and I hope we are not waiting for nothing. Haven’t received a message from them what time they will be coming over but Smart said the schedule is today. Ace wanted to go out after lunch but we’re clueless what time the technicians will be here. Hope we won’t be waiting until 5PM. |

It’s been a week that I have no internet connection. If I work during the day, I go to Carol’s place or connect to a prepaid internet through the SmartBro plug-it. The latter costs me a lot but I don’t have a choice. However, I am still undecided if I will just request for relocation of my current subscription – that is fixed broadband – or apply for a new one – the SmartBro share-it. To check the speed of share-it, Smart CS said I need to check the plug-it or 3G internet speed. So far, plug-it speed is satisfactory. There are times when it is fast and there are times when it is crawling. Times when speed is too slow, it drives me nuts. The slow net connection never failed to stress me out that I would definitely need a wrinkle cream sooner or later. Though prepaid and 3G speed is slow, SmartBro share-it has option to enhance the speed (according to others) with the aid of an external antenna that could be bought in computer accessories store. So, should I go for the fixed broadband or the share-it? Hope I could make up my mind soon so I could have my unlimited internet connection here at home. |
At last, my lappy’s back! It was returned to the computer store for observation and they decided to replace it with another unit. This time we chose to install Windows Vista as its OS thinking that the downgrade from Vista to XP caused the poor performance of the first unit that we got. Now this is our first time to use Vista and its a lot different! I think it’s complicated and I like XP better that even just connecting to the internet would take a lot of time for me compared to using XP which immediately connects as soon as I turn on the laptop. Now Vista is driving me nuts! |
